A drill is not wrong because it’s simple.
A drill becomes a problem when we forget what it’s for.
Static practice can help us learn. Cooperation can help us understand. Repetition can give us structure.
But if the training never moves beyond that, we may become very good at performing the drill while remaining unprepared for the chaos it was supposed to help us understand.
The starting point matters.
But it is not the destination.
